Bilingual Japanese Project Manager – IT Infrastructure

Established International Technology Firm is seeking an IT Infrastructure Project Manager with Japanese language skills;

• Lead and manage end-to-end IT infrastructure projects, including planning, execution, and delivery, while ensuring alignment with client requirements, budget, and timeline
• Coordinate with internal technical teams, external vendors, and client stakeholders to define project scope, milestones, and deliverables.
• Oversee implementation of enterprise-level infrastructure solutions including network systems, server environments, cloud migration (AWS, Azure), and data center operations.
• Manage and support projects involving hybrid IT environments, on-premise infrastructure modernization, office relocation setups, and enterprise communication system upgrades (VoIP, VPN, firewall, etc.).
• Act as the primary point of contact for Japanese-speaking clients, providing bilingual communication and cultural coordination between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with business users, engineers, and third-party providers to resolve issues and ensure smooth deployment and operation.
• Conduct regular status meetings, risk assessments, and progress reporting to ensure project transparency and alignment.

Required:

• Native (and professional) level command of the Japanese language
• Minimum of +3 years of professional work experience
• Business level command of the English language
• Strategic thinker (problem solver)
• Excellent communicator (oral, writing)
• Excel in working in a group (team) environment and get along with people from all walks of life (i.e. race, religion, culture, language, gender, etc.,)
• Based in the Tri-state area and can commute to Manhattan
• Able to go on business trips (mostly domestic travel. Typical trips are for 2-3 days. )

Preferred (negotiable)

• Experience working in IT infrastructure (in any capacity but PM or engineer/technician strongly preferred)
• Experience in enterprise level project management role (doesn’t have to be in IT)
• Poses strong leadership skills
• Education in computer science, business, mathematics, and/or macroeconomics.
