We’re partnering with a top-tier DeFi research & engineering lab, building a first-of-its-kind decentralised trading system designed from the ground up to be MEV-aware. This is not incremental DeFi, it’s protocol-level re-architecture with real economic impact.

They’re on the lookout for the 4th addition to this team - a Senior Protocol Engineer (Rust) to help design, build, and ship a high-performance execution engine and consensus system that sits at the core of the protocol.

• Architecting and implementing a Rust-based execution engine and underlying consensus
• Building protocol-critical extensions:
  data indexing
  , vault infrastructure
  , and backend services
• Designing core mechanisms that directly influence market behaviour and execution quality
• Collaborating with a small, elite protocol team working async-first
• Writing clear public-facing technical documentation and diagrams
• Continuously challenging assumptions and improving protocol design and implementation

This is hands-on, systems-level work - close to the metal, close to production

🧠 What They’re Looking For:

You’ll thrive here if you have:

• Deep, production-grade experience with Rust
• A background in high-performance systems (a-sync, networking, concurrency, architecture)
• Familiarity with the EVM and Ethereum execution environments
• Experience building highly
  critical systems (from scratch)
• Comfort working autonomously in an a-sync team
• MEV or high-frequency trading experience
• Meaningful open-source contributions
• Hands-on work with Ethereum execution clients (especially Reth
  )
• Experience with EVM tooling such as Alloy
• A maths or formal methods background
• Up-to $400k+ total comp! (Base + equity & benefits; flexible by seniority)
