At House of Brick, the services organization of Opscompass, we’re looking for a Senior SQL Server Consultant who’s more than just experienced — we’re looking for someone exceptional. This is a specialized role for professionals who live and breathe SQL Server. You’ll work with customers of all sizes and across a variety of industries, solving some of the most intricate performance, architecture, and migration problems out there.

You’ll consult with clients that are using — or migrating to — Microsoft SQL Server across on-prem and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities include:

• Assessing technical and business objectives
• Gathering requirements and system metrics
• Architecting and implementing SQL Server solutions
• Performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Documentation and reporting
• Health checks and system reviews for managed services customers
• Project-based advisory services
• Occasional pre-sales technical support

We’re seeking someone with 10+ years of hands‑on experience with SQL Server in production environments, including:

• SQL Server 2016 through the latest release
• High Availability/Disaster Recovery (Always On AGs, clustering, log shipping, replication)
• Backup and recovery strategies
• Performance tuning and optimization
• Installation, upgrades, and migrations
• T‑SQL Development
• Windows Server administration
• Networking and virtualization (VMware, Nutanix)
• Storage architecture and monitoring
• Cloud experience (Azure/AWS/GCP) preferred
• SQL Server certifications and cloud certifications are a plus

• Ability to work independently and within a high‑performing team
• Strong attention to detail and documentation habits
• Proven consulting and customer service skills
• Excellent communication (written and verbal)
• Natural curiosity and ongoing desire to learn
• Ability to analyze and solve root causes, not just symptoms
• Comfortable juggling tasks across multiple environments
• Experience presenting findings and leading customer conversations

• Occasional travel to customer sites may be required
• Participation in a rotating 24/7 on‑call support schedule is expected
