Responsibilities

The Safety and Technology Manager serves as Atmosphere’s safety and technology liaison to the Atmosphere community. In this role, the Safety and Technology Manager will institute and ensure that proper protocols in these two key areas are being followed by local teams across all buildings. Additionally, the Technology Manager will work to revamp Atmosphere’s technology systems in order to make them more efficient and effective.

  • Technology Vision & Strategy – Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the school’s mission and goals; stay up-to-date on educational technology trends; collaborate with the leadership team to integrate technology into the school’s educational framework.
  • IT Infrastructure & Management – Oversee IT infrastructure (networks, servers, hardware, software); manage installation, configuration, and maintenance; ensure security, data privacy, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Educational Technology Integration – Lead implementation of digital tools and resources; provide training for faculty and staff; collaborate to identify tech-driven opportunities to enhance curriculum delivery.
  • Staff & Student Support – Provide technical support; develop user guides; manage help desk and ensure timely responses.
  • Data Management & Reporting – Oversee student data systems; analyze data to improve outcomes; ensure FERPA and data privacy compliance.
  • Budget & Resource Management – Procure hardware/software/services; coordinate with vendors and partners.
  • Leadership & Collaboration – Lead IT team; liaise between stakeholders; promote innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Education Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years in educational technology or IT management; at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Prior experience in a K-12 school or educational institution; charter school experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of educational technology tools and platforms (e.g., Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft 365, LMS).
