Overview

Church of the City New York is seeking a highly skilled and systems-minded coordinator to oversee the technology and data infrastructure that keeps ministry running smoothly and securely. This role advances our mission “to see lost New Yorkers far from God transformed into compelling missional disciples” by ensuring our tech systems are reliable, unified, and scalable.

The IT/Data Coordinator will manage all non-production technology across ministry spaces, including Sunday check-ins, staff devices, and room tech, while safeguarding sensitive information and ensuring system reliability.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about building simple, dependable systems that free our teams to focus on people and ministry. They will bring a blend of technical expertise, project management skill, and a heart for service—turning complexity into clarity so that every tool supports the mission of Church of the City New York.

Role Summary

Oversee the systems, data, and technology infrastructure that enable Church of the City New York to operate with excellence, security, and scalability. This role ensures our digital platforms, databases, and devices work seamlessly to support ministry effectiveness, volunteer engagement, and organizational growth.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as project manager for the Rock RMS migration, leading scope, timeline, and data migration efforts with Triumph consultants. Map and validate people, groups, and check-in data; establish integrations with Planning Center, Clearstream, and Google Workspace; and decommission redundant tools.
  • Build and maintain core dashboards that visualize the church’s health—covering weekly attendance, engagement funnels, volunteer capacity, and ministry performance. Conduct data integrity audits, maintain clean records, and train staff to use dashboards effectively.
  • Develop and manage automations and integrations across Rock, PCO, and Clearstream to streamline engagement workflows—from connect cards to next-step follow-ups and volunteer coordination.
  • Ensure technology reliability across venues, offices, and Sunday environments, maintaining devices, networks, check-in systems, signage, and meeting room tech. Partner with Production and Creative teams to guarantee operational readiness.
  • Administer IT operations and cybersecurity systems, including Google Workspace, MFA/SSO, device management, and data protection. Enforce access controls, backups, and incident response protocols to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Manage vendor relationships, budgets, and software licenses; evaluate build-vs-buy decisions and retire redundant tools for cost efficiency.
  • Oversee digital file storage, permissions, and retention standards, maintaining clean archives and secure separation of PII and media assets.
  • Create and maintain documentation, quick-start guides, and training materials to support staff adoption of technology systems.
  • Plan for scalability as COTC NYC grows—expanding infrastructure and exploring new tools, including the potential development of a COTC app to enhance connection and engagement.
  • Adhere to and embody the qualities and characteristics required of Church of the City New York Staff Members, as defined by the Staff Handbook.
Qualifications
  • A spiritually mature Christian in submission to the authority of Scripture and the Holy Spirit, modeling the heart of a Biblical Acts 6 servant; subscribes to and is in full agreement with Church of the City’s Statement of Faith, as publicly available.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional IT experience preferred; pastoral or ministry experience is a plus
  • A builder who can create, implement, and refine systems—not just maintain them
  • Administratively skilled and comfortable with ROCK RMS, Planning Center, Google Suite, and team communication platforms
  • Strategic and spiritually grounded, able to combine strong relational instincts with process-oriented thinking
Benefits
  • Salary Range $75,000-$85,000
  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Health Savings Account
  • Pre-tax travel benefit
  • Retirement Plan (403b)
  • Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Personal Days, Safe & Sick and Holidays)
  • Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity)
  • Training & Development
