Boden Talent is supporting our client, a global operator within critical environments, in the appointment of a Global Technical Director to lead technical and reliability strategy across a major enterprise data centre portfolio.

This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for operational resilience, uptime, and technical excellence across a complex, multi-site, international platform. You will own the global technical roadmap, lead the central Centre of Excellence function, and act as the senior technical authority for the account.

Working closely with client stakeholders and internal leadership, you will drive standardisation, governance, and continuous improvement while supporting sites through incidents, compliance, and long-term capital planning. Innovation, sustainability, and ESG sit firmly within the remit.

• Lead and deliver the global technical and reliability strategy
• Own technical governance, standards, and best-practice implementation
• Lead the Central Technical / Centre of Excellence team
• Act as senior technical interface with the client and key stakeholders
• Ensure plant availability, resilience, and SLA performance across all sites
• Lead incident response, RCA, and emergency preparedness
• Oversee technical compliance, audits, statutory obligations, and safety
• Support capital planning, design reviews, vendor performance, and cost optimisation
• Drive continuous improvement across operations, systems, and processes

• Extensive experience in critical environments (data centres preferred)
• Proven senior leadership background in technical operations or reliability
• Engineering qualification (Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls)
• Strong understanding of redundancy, resilience, and operational risk
• Confident working at board, client, and operational levels
• Commercially and contractually astute with excellent communication skills
