Founding Senior Data Engineer – Python

Our client is a rapidly growing insurance technology start-up, focused on revolutionizing the life insurance and annuities market. Through use of their cutting edge and AI technology, they are building an intelligent backend for insurance workflows, enabling the insurance industry to eliminate manual processes, get the most out of their data, and operate more productively and efficiently. Senior/Founding Data Engineer

Office in mid-town Manhattan. Candidates must be local to the NYC metro area and comfortable working onsite 2-3x per week. Must be eligible to work for any US employer. No sponsorship or C2C can be offered at this time.

• 5+ years professional data engineering experience, building, maintaining, and optimizing ETL pipelines
• Expertise in Python and AWS technologies
• Experience working at both a small start-up, as well as a larger, more structured enterprise setting
• Experience leveraging AI/ML technologies to accelerate your data engineering workflows
• Ability to work autonomously as the first data engineering hire, and helping establish best engineering practices and contributing to their data roadmap
• Experience working close with Data Scientist(s) and enabling their workflows

• Degree in IT, Computer Science or STEM related field
• Experience in fin-tech, insur-tech, or working with financial data
• Experience as a Founding / 1st data engineer hire
• Experience with Typescript / Node.js

150,000 – 180,000 base salary, plus equity/bonus (Based on experience)
