Stagwell Media Platform is seeking a Monetization Manager to own and optimize revenue generation across our digital platforms. This role will be responsible for day-to-day monetization performance while also helping shape longer-term monetization strategy across programmatic advertising and emerging revenue opportunities.
This is a highly cross-functional role, working closely with editorial leadership, ad operations, technology partners, and the publisher team. The ideal candidate is both analytical and scrappy — comfortable digging into yield, pacing, and auctions, while also thinking strategically about new revenue streams and operational improvements.
What You’ll Do
Programmatic & Ad Revenue Optimization
- Own day-to-day monetization performance across display (and video, where applicable), with a focus on yield, fill, pricing, and revenue pacing.
- Monitor inventory utilization and identify opportunities to improve yield through floor pricing, demand mix, and inventory strategy.
- Partner with ad operations and ad tech teams to troubleshoot delivery issues and resolve revenue-impacting problems quickly.
- Manage contracts and relationships with SSPs, ad tech vendors, and monetization partners from onboarding through ongoing optimization.
- Evaluate new vendors, demand sources, and monetization technologies; make data-backed recommendations on testing and adoption.
- Stay current on programmatic marketplace trends and platform changes that impact publisher revenue.
Reporting & Insights
- Own revenue reporting and performance analysis across monetization channels.
- Develop clear, actionable insights that explain revenue trends, risks, and opportunities to internal stakeholders.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and planning efforts with reliable data and analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with editorial, product, and technology teams to ensure monetization strategies align with user experience and editorial integrity.
- Represent monetization priorities in cross-functional discussions and initiatives.
- Collaborate with the broader team to share best practices and drive network-wide improvements.
Strategic Growth Initiatives
- Contribute to longer-term monetization strategy, including experimentation with new ad formats, sponsor ships, newsletters, or other revenue models.
- Help document and standardize monetization processes to improve efficiency and scalability as the business grows.
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in digital media monetization, yield management, ad operations, or programmatic strategy.
- Strong understanding of programmatic advertising ecosystems, including SSPs, DSPs, auctions, and pricing mechanics.
- Hands-on experience with Prebid and Google Ad Manager (GAM); familiarity with analytics and reporting tools.
- Highly analytical, with strong Excel/Sheets skills and comfort working with performance data.
- Proven ability to manage vendors, troubleshoot issues, and execute with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex monetization concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced media environment.
