Location: New York

We are seeking a Desktop Support Manager to join a fast‑paced private equity firm based in New York. This is a highly visible, hands‑on leadership role for someone who enjoys balancing technical execution with people and vendor management in a demanding, high‑expectation environment.

This role is ideal for a player/coach someone who remains technically sharp while leading a small internal desktop team and coordinating external smart‑hands resources.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop two desktop support engineers, providing day‑to‑day guidance, coaching, and escalation support
  • Set priorities, manage workload, and ensure consistent, high‑quality end‑user support
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex desktop, endpoint, and collaboration issues
Hands‑On Technical Support
  • Provide advanced desktop and endpoint support in a high‑touch, on‑site environment supporting investment professionals and senior leadership
  • Troubleshoot issues across Windows, macOS, mobile devices, peripherals, and conference room technology
  • Maintain a strong presence on the floor and lead by example
  • Own and support the desktop environment leveraging Azure AD / Entra , Intune, and Microsoft 365
  • Manage user identities, access, device enrollment, conditional access, and endpoint policies
  • Support and optimize M365 services including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, One Drive, and Office applications
  • Manage third‑party vendors providing smart hands / on‑site support, ensuring SLAs and service quality are met
  • Coordinate after‑hours support, coverage, and special projects with external partners
  • Act as the primary point of contact for desktop‑related vendor relationships
Operational Excellence
  • Improve desktop support processes, documentation, and standards
  • Partner with infrastructure, security, and application teams on projects and rollouts
  • Ensure a secure, stable, and professional technology experience aligned with a private equity environment
Required Experience & Skills
  • Experience managing or leading desktop/end‑user support teams
  • Strong hands‑on technical background in desktop and endpoint support
  • Deep experience with Azure AD / Entra  Microsoft 365
  • Experience managing vendors and smart hands resources
  • Background supporting senior executives and front‑office users in high‑pressure environments
  • Strong communication skills and a service‑oriented mindset
  • Experience in private equity, financial services, investment management, or professional services - beneficial
  • Familiarity with Intune, endpoint security, and device lifecycle management
  • Comfortable working fully on‑site in a fast‑moving NYC office
