As a Dev Ops Engineer,

You’ll establish the Dev Ops foundation  will play a pivotal role in designing our internal platform, scaling infrastructure, and setting the standards for reliability and automation across the organization. You’ll help build the foundational backend of a product with massive market pull.

This is an intense, hands‑on Engineering role with full ownership. We expect you to push for excellence and raise the bar.

Remote with overlap to our New York City HQ (EST)

Where you'll create impact

• Lead the initial setup of our Dev Ops and platform engineering practices, defining standards, tooling, and infrastructure strategy

• Design and deliver an internal platform for personal or feature environments to empower developers and improve velocity

• Build and maintain AWS-based infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security

• Develop CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and automate release processes

• Implement observability tooling (logging, monitoring, alerting) to detect and resolve issues proactively

• Collaborate closely with developers to identify bottlenecks, improve delivery, and enhance system reliability

• Ensure high availability and uptime through effective monitoring, incident response, and recovery strategies

• Promote infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code best practices

• Document systems, configurations, and incident processes for team-wide clarity and consistency

• Participate in on‑call rotations or coordinate time zone coverage to ensure 24‑hour reliability across regions

What sets you up for success

• Hardcore work ethic and high agency

• 8+ years of experience in backend engineering

• Proven track record in high-growth, high-ownership environments

• Strong skills in Postgre

SQL, SQL, ORMs, migrations, and schema design

• Experience with AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure

• Strong API design and testing experience

• Understanding of CI/CD, deployment, and production readiness

• Bonus: expertise in Python and modern frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, or Django)

• Ability to manage complex systems with evolving requirements

• Fluent English (C1+) with clear communication
