NutanixVmWare Administrator Hybrid, Bronx, NY

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Windows System Administrator to join our contract IT team. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of hands-on experience managing Windows environments and a strong understanding of SQL databases. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining, securing and optimizing our Windows-based infrastructure and supporting SQL systems that are critical to business operations.

• Administer, maintain and optimize Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and Windows system performance; troubleshoot hardware, software and network support; maintain backup/recovery solutions and disaster recovery; configure and maintain SQL Server and optimize SQL queries and scripts for system automation and reporting.
• Collaborate with development and application teams to ensure system compatibility and performance.
• Collaborate with customers, adjacent technical teams and all levels of management to address systems issues.
• Maintain security best practices including system hardening and vulnerability management.
• Produce documentation for system configurations, procedures and change controls.

• 5-7 years of experience in Windows system administration in mid to large-scale environments.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (installation, maintenance, scripting, performance tuning).
• Proficiency in Power Shell scripting for automation.
• High level of familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V and Nutanix).
• Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs).
• Knowledge of ITIL practices and change management processes is a plus.

• Microsoft Certified:
  Windows Hybrid Server Administrator
• Microsoft Certified:
  Administrator Associate
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent

Bachelors Degree
