AS/400 Director/Manager Operations Fully Onsite
As an IT leader, the Director will ensure our systems meet stringent regulatory, security, and operational requirements
HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY- Develop and execute the long‑term roadmap for IBM i systems supporting Retail enterprise application environments.
- Drive modernization initiatives including high availability, IASP optimization and support the transformation of legacy applications.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of IBM i servers and applications ensuring uptime for 24/7 operations.
- Manage system performance, capacity planning, auditing, high availability and disaster recovery for highly regulated gaming platforms.
- Own policies, documentation, access controls, and operational procedures related to IBM i environments.
- Lead and mentor a blended team of internal and external IBM i Architects, Engineers, Administrators and Operators.
- Foster a high‑performance culture with strong accountability, communication, and customer service.
- Serve as the subject‑matter expert for all IBM i–related initiatives, enhancements, and system impacts.
- Manage vendor relationships with managed service partners and IBM i software vendors.
- Will manage 3 to 4 people
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- 10+ years of experience with IBM i (AS/400, iSeries, System i) systems.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in IBM I IT operations and enterprise systems management.
- Strong expertise in CL, SQL, DB2 for i, and IBM i system administration.
- Demonstrated experience working within strict regulatory, auditing, and security frameworks.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
