Position: IT Support Engineer – Client‑Dedicated

Reports To: IT Support Manager (Funto Network) / Client IT Director (dotted line)
Tech Stack: Windows Server, Active Directory, Nutanix AHV, Power Shell, Networking (DHCP/DNS/Firewall), Prowatch/Genetec (nice to have)

Eastern USA Financial Services Corridor – New York Metro
- Primary:
Must reside within a reasonable commute to Lower Manhattan (NYC boroughs, Hudson County NJ, Western Long Island). - Secondary:
Northern NJ, Westchester, CT – candidates willing to travel to NYC daily. - Avoid:
Remote‑only candidates;
West Coast, Mountain, or Central time zones cannot be accommodated due to onsite mandate.
- Immediate access to client datacenters, trading floors, and executive suites.
- Alignment with client operating hours (8 AM – 6 PM Eastern) plus after‑hours maintenance windows.
- Deep familiarity with NYC's unique regulatory landscape (DFS Part 500, SOX, PCI DSS).
- Ability to provide hands‑on hardware support, racking/stacking, and emergency dispatch.

This client‑dedicated role embodies that promise: you will be the onsite face of Funto Network, embedded within a prestigious financial organisation, ensuring their systems are stable, secure, and continuously optimised.
We are seeking a highly motivated, customer‑centric IT Support Engineer to join our team on a long‑term, client‑dedicated contract. You will be placed onsite at a premier financial services client in downtown Manhattan, functioning as a key member of their infrastructure team while enjoying the backing and resources of Funto Network. Your primary mission: ensure the stability, security, and performance of the client’s Windows Server environment, Nutanix hypervisor infrastructure, Active Directory, and network services.
You will handle everything from daily user administration and patch management to disaster recovery testing and security compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses deep technical expertise across the Microsoft/Nutanix stack, a relentless customer service mindset, and the poise to interact with both executives and helpdesk staff. This is a high‑visibility, high‑impact role for an engineer who thrives in fast‑paced, regulated environments.
- Infrastructure Maintenance & Patching
- Execute monthly patch cycles for Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Nutanix AHV hosts, and firmware across physical and virtual infrastructure.
- Perform Darksite patching procedures with zero production downtime.
- Manage Nutanix cluster health, VM lifecycle, and storage optimisation.
- Active Directory & Identity Management
- Administer user/group accounts, security groups, Group Policy, and domain trust relationships.
- Ensure regular backup and recoverability of Active Directory and domain controllers.
- Support hybrid identity integrations (Azure AD Connect) as needed.
- Server & Storage Administration
- Maintain Windows Server file/print services, application servers, and IIS.
- Monitor RAID configurations, SAN/NAS connectivity, and storage capacity.
- Perform server hardening in line with CIS benchmarks and client security policies.
- Network Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, routing, and firewall policies.
- Collaborate with client’s network team to validate ACLs, VLAN segmentation, and encryption protocols.
- Use packet capture tools for advanced troubleshooting.
