Field Services Manager – HPE Installations & Client Delivery

Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly hands‑on Field Services Manager to lead on‑site HPE infrastructure deployments and client‑facing technical delivery engagements. This is a field‑focused role requiring regular presence at customer locations across the New York area.
The ideal candidate has strong experience installing and supporting HPE servers and storage solutions in live customer environments, is comfortable leading field deployments, and thrives in a client‑facing setting. This role blends hands‑on technical execution, field leadership, and customer relationship management.
Key Responsibilities- Field Installations & On‑Site Technical Delivery
- Lead and perform on‑site installation, configuration, and deployment of HPE servers, storage, and infrastructure solutions
- Cisco networking equipment (switching, routing, firewalls)
- Rack, stack, cable, and configure hardware in data center and enterprise environments.
- Perform system upgrades, migrations, hardware replacements, and infrastructure refresh projects.
- Conduct on‑site troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance optimization.
- Ensure all installations follow best practices, documentation standards, and client compliance requirements.
- Provide post‑installation validation, testing, and client walkthroughs.
- Client‑Facing Engagement
- Serve as the primary on‑site technical contact during installations and deployment projects.
- Communicate clearly with client IT teams, stakeholders, and leadership during field activities.
- Provide real‑time updates, status reporting, and issue resolution while on‑site.
- Build strong working relationships with enterprise and public sector clients.
- Represent the company professionally in customer environments.
- Project Execution & Coordination
- Coordinate field schedules, site readiness, and deployment planning.
- Work closely with internal engineering, project management, and sales teams.
- Manage multiple field projects across different client sites.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with customer expectations.
- Document configurations, installation procedures, and technical findings.
- Pre‑Sales & Technical Support (Field Perspective)
- Support pre‑sales efforts by participating in site surveys and technical assessments.
- Provide input on hardware sizing, infrastructure design, and deployment planning.
- Assist in validating bill of materials and technical scope for HPE infrastructure projects.
- Offer practical field insights to improve solution design and implementation efficiency.
- Public Sector & Compliance Environments
- Support deployments in government, education, and regulated environments.
- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and procurement standards common in public sector projects.
- Maintain professionalism and procedural discipline in sensitive environments.
- Technical Requirements
- Strong hands‑on experience with HPE Pro Liant servers and HPE storage solutions
- Rack and stack deployments in data centers
- Cisco networking (switching, routing, firewall configuration)
- Experience performing hardware installations in live enterprise environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, networking, and system‑level issues on‑site.
- Familiarity with structured cabling and data center best practices.
- Field & Client‑Facing Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in field engineering, infrastructure deployment, or technical services.
- Extensive experience working directly at customer sites.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with IT teams and leadership.
- Ability to travel locally and work flexible schedules based on deployment needs.
- Experience in public sector environments is highly desirable.
