Job Description

We are seeking an AWS Cloud Platform Engineer to support our NYC client. This role will design, automate, and support secure, scalable AWS-based platforms enabling data processing, AI/ML workloads, and production‑grade MLOps. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, automation‑focused, and comfortable supporting complex, mission‑critical systems in a large enterprise or public‑sector environment.

Duties
  • Design, provision, and maintain secure, highly available AWS cloud infrastructure using services such as EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, KMS, and multi‑AZ architectures.
  • Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Cloud Formation, and Ansible to automate environment provisioning and configuration.
  • Administer and optimize Linux/Unix systems, developing automation scripts in Bash, Shell, and Python to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Build and support CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) to deploy cloud infrastructure, AI agents, and machine learning models into production environments.
  • Deploy, monitor, and manage containerized workloads and MLOps platforms using Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS.
  • Architect and maintain scalable data processing and ETL/ELT workflows leveraging AWS managed services, Python, and PySpark.
  • Integrate and support AWS AI/ML services such as Sage Maker, Bedrock, and Open Search (vector databases) to enable AI‑driven applications.
  • Monitor system performance, security, and compliance using Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail, AWS Backup, and networking controls, ensuring operational resilience and governance.
Mandatory Qualifications
  • 7+ years of hands‑on AWS experience: EC2, RDS, S3, Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail, IAM, KMS, AWS Backup, and Lambda.
  • 7+ years of experience in Linux/Unix administration and automation scripting (Bash, Shell, Python).
  • 7+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools, including Cloud Formation, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • 7+ years of knowledge in AWS networking: VPC, subnets, NACLs, security groups, Route 53, and multi‑AZ architectures.
  • 5+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, and IaC for deploying AI agents and ML models into production, monitoring autonomous workflows, and supporting MLOps using Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS.
  • 4+ years of experience architecting, building, and maintaining scalable data processing workflows using AWS managed services and Python (including PySpark); strong understanding of data architecture and ETL/ELT patterns.
  • 4+ years of experience working with AWS AI/ML services such as Sage Maker, Bedrock, and vector databases (Open Search).
  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, NLP concepts, and deep learning frameworks such as Tensor Flow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face.
  • Associate's degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience.
