Senior Project Manager

Impact Staffing International (ISI) is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Senior Scrum Master to support our client’s Finance Technology & AI initiatives. This contract role is based in New York
, working onsite Tuesday through Thursday with the potential for contract-to-hire conversion.

This position offers the opportunity to lead complex, high-impact technology programs, guide agile delivery across cross-functional teams, and drive innovation in finance technology and artificial intelligence within a fast-paced enterprise environment.

• Drive the organization’s strategic project portfolio, ensuring successful delivery of complex, multi-year initiatives.
• Translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional specifications, execution roadmaps, and project plans.
• Lead and manage cross-functional agile teams as a Senior Scrum Master, ensuring adherence to Scrum and agile best practices.
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to define scope, priorities, milestones, and deliverables for finance technology and AI projects.
• Track timelines, risks, budgets, and performance metrics while implementing mitigation strategies and escalating issues when needed.
• Coach and mentor team members on agile principles, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Remove impediments, protect sprint focus, and maintain a well-groomed product backlog in collaboration with the Product Owner.
• Communicate project status, risks, and financials to senior leadership and stakeholders through clear reporting and presentations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, strengthen project governance, and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for complex initiatives and contribute to enterprise project management methodologies and change delivery practices.
• Lead, mentor, and develop project staff while ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational expectations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5–10 years of experience in Scrum Master, Agile Project Manager, or senior project leadership roles within technology environments.
• Proven experience delivering IT solutions in medium-to-large, complex organizations—preferably within banking or financial services.
• Strong expertise in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and agile transformation initiatives.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS), big data ecosystems (Spark, Hadoop), and AI/ML frameworks (conceptual knowledge).
• Experience using Jira, Confluence, Azure Dev Ops, or similar project management tools.
• Excellent leadership, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and decision-making capability.
• Demonstrated success coaching and mentoring agile teams.
• Adaptability to shifting priorities in fast-paced delivery environments.
• Agile certifications (CSM, PSM) and/or PMP certification preferred.
