AI Engineer, Data Analyst
Akkodis is seeking an Applied GenAI Engineer for a Contract opportunity in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will translate complex business needs into scalable, secure, and governed GenAI solutions, working across data, engineering, and governance teams.
Rate Range: $45/hour to $60/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Building and product ionizing LLM applications for summarization, classification, extraction, entity resolution, and recommendations
Designing agentic workflows including tool‑using agents, multi‑step plans, guardrails, and audit mechanisms
Developing document and data intelligence pipelines—parsing, chunking, embedding, hybrid retrieval, and re‑ranking
Creating evaluation frameworks such as golden datasets, regression tests, automated scoring, and human‑review loops
Implementing reliability patterns including hallucination mitigation, grounding approaches, and prompt‑injection defenses
Engineering GenAI systems within enterprise constraints (security, governance, access, cost optimization, observability)
Partnering with platform, governance, and data engineering teams to ensure alignment with entitlements, lineage, and controls
Supporting data intelligence initiatives across metadata, compliance, workflow optimization, fraud detection, and onboarding
Strong Python engineering skills with experience shipping production‑grade services and APIs
Hands‑on experience with LLM application patterns including RAG, tool calling, structured outputs
Experience building hybrid search and retrieval systems (vector + keyword) and working with large unstructured datasets
Strong fundamentals across software engineering—including CI/CD, logging, testing, and containerization
Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into clear technical designs, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes
Nice to have: experience with knowledge graphs, semantic search, regulated environments, cybersecurity, Dev Sec Ops , or LLMOps practices
$45.00 to $60.00 per hour
