Position OverviewWe are a mission-driven organization serving our community at scale (~1300 employees). Our Data Analytics team drives insight, reporting, and actionable data products that inform leadership, program teams, and operational decision-making. We are seeking a highly capable Director of Data Analytics to lead and grow this function.
The Director of Data Analytics will lead our analytics function, owning the end-to-end delivery of analytics, dashboards, and reporting. This is a hands‑on, do‑er role and you will actively work with data, build reports, and support operational teams while scaling analytics capabilities.
The Director of Analytics will partner with business units, understand nuanced operational needs, and ensure data products reflect real‑world use cases. This person will manage a small team and work collaboratively with data engineering/storage teams, but will be expected to execute independently without micromanagement.
Essential Functions- Lead and mentor the Analytics team (Power BI, Excel developers, analysts).
- Build and maintain dashboards, reporting tools, and actionable analytics products.
- Translate stakeholder needs into analytics requirements and delivery plans.
- Drive best practice standards for data quality, visualization, and documentation.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to prioritize analytics work.
- Review data logic and validate outputs to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Ensure analytics products are intuitive, timely, and aligned with organizational goals.
- 7+ years experience in data analytics, BI, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience with Power BI and advanced Excel.
- Strong SQL/data querying skills (or similar).
- Proven track record of leading analytics delivery with minimal oversight.
- Ability to work independently, you get work done and deliver results.
- Excellent communication skills with non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience leveraging AI.
- Experience managing or scaling analytics teams.
- Experience working with larger datasets and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of data governance best practices.
