The BA Sr Analyst supports all reporting and data infrastructure, ensuring accurate and timely information delivery using tools such as SAP Business Objects, Tableau, Excel, and internal platforms.

The Sr. Analyst brings a data science mindset to enhance existing reporting, with a focus on learning current structures before driving consolidation and automation. This includes using Python or similar scripting languages to automate workflows and optimize recurring processes. The role requires strong problem‑solving skills, including understanding data flows, anticipating downstream impacts, diagnosing issues, and defining scalable, reliable process designs.

As part of the SGH NA Finance team, the Sr Analyst partners closely with field leadership to identify opportunities and resolve reporting issues. Strong communication skills are essential to explain complex reporting structures and address the needs of diverse stakeholders.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support existing reporting workflows by running queries, combining datasets, refreshing reports, validating outputs, and distributing daily communications to brand partners.

  • Build and maintain SAP Business Objects Web Intelligence queries, adjusting joins, filters, prompts, and derived objects as business needs evolve.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues by modifying logic, calculations, filters, and layouts across Tableau, Tableau Prep, Web Intelligence, and other platforms.
  • Develop strong expertise in core business metrics, including underlying assumptions, data sources, and drivers, to confidently answer questions and resolve issues.
  • Serve as the primary contact for reporting and data support, responding to field inquiries and Help Desk escalations.
  • Investigate reported issues by tracing data from source systems through queries, calculations, and report structures to identify errors in data, logic, configuration, or usage.
  • Act as a subject‑matter expert on BA reporting, data sources, and business logic, ensuring consistent interpretation across stakeholders.
  • Implement reporting changes thoughtfully, recognizing how design and metric definitions influence field behavior and decision‑making.
  • Communicate complex analytical concepts clearly and empathetically to non‑technical retail partners.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or related field; or a relevant technical certification program.
  • 3+ years’ experience in analytics, reporting, or data‑focused roles (internship and project experience considered).

  • Proven experience building dashboards using any BI platform.
  • Direct experience querying and manipulating data across multiple sources.
  • Highly proficient in Excel or other spreadsheet‑based data analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with stakeholders of varying backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated history of project ownership, initiative, and ability to operate independently.
