As a Senior Manager of Technical Program Management (TPM) in the Bank Tech organization, you will drive programs to support current and future payment types such as Check Disbursements, Wires, and Instant payments. In this role you will partner with Senior Leaders and stakeholders across lines of business (Credit Card, Retail Banking, Auto Finance, etc.) to execute a cohesive roadmap across multiple work streams, delivering results that have a direct impact on the company.
This includes driving platform maturity to bring innovation into the payment offerings. In addition to the technical program, you will help shape an expanding TPM discipline within the team, sharing industry knowledge and teaching what a great TPM can achieve.
- Strong technical background (ideally building highly scalable platforms, products, or services) with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the delivery life‑cycle.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
- Excellent problem‑solving and influencing skills.
- Quantitative approach to problem solving and a collaborative implementer of holistic solutions; a systems thinker.
- Ability to simplify technically complex issues and drive well‑educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives.
- Deep focus on execution, follow‑through, accountability, and results.
- Exceptional cross‑team collaboration; able to work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done.
- Highly tuned emotional intelligence, a good listener, and deep seated empathy for teams and partners.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 5 years of experience managing technical programs.
- 5+ years of experience designing and building data‑intensive solutions using distributed computing.
- 3+ years of experience building distributed systems and highly available services using AWS cloud computing services and architecture.
- 3+ years experience in the Payments space.
- 3+ years experience with Agile delivery.
- 3+ years experience delivering large and complex programs—owning the business or technical vision, collaborating with large cross‑functional teams, securing commitments on deliverables, and unblocking teams to achieve business impact.
- Experience building systems and solutions within a highly regulated environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering).

Salary and BenefitsSalary ranges vary by location (e.g., McLean, VA: $200,700 – $229,100; New York, NY: $219,000 – $249,900; Richmond, VA: $182,500 – $208,300). The role is eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long‑term incentives.
