The Corporate Technology Team is responsible for crafting, deploying, and supporting Bloomberg’s internal IT systems, including our global corporate network and all hardware, software and enterprise applications used by nearly 26,000 employees in more than 190 state‑of‑the‑art offices around the world. We focus on enterprise solutions, efficiency tools, and IT systems integration which helps move all of Bloomberg's businesses forward.
The RoleIn this role, you’ll partner closely with our architecture team to bring network designs to life, leading the end‑to‑end delivery of enterprise network solutions across a complex, high‑performance environment. You’ll play a critical role in bridging design and execution, ensuring solutions are scalable, resilient, operationally sound and supportable at global scale.
Beyond delivery, you’ll act as a technical leader within the team—owning key initiatives, influencing design decisions, and helping define best practices across campus and data center networking, next‑generation firewalls, SD‑WAN, wireless, automation, and network security. You’ll collaborate across engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to continuously improve performance, reliability, and user experience across Bloomberg’s modern offices.
Responsibilities- Drive global SD‑WAN deployments and WAN transformation initiatives and automation of site provisioning.
- Deploy and operate EVPN/VXLAN networks across data center and campus environments.
- Support strategic programs including Zero Trust Networking, workplace agility, SaaS migration, and network automation.
- Validate, refine, and operationalize network designs and security enforcement.
- Continuously improve and evolve existing network solutions, enhancing scalability, security, resilience, and operational efficiency.
- Play a lead role in process improvements, automation strategy, and tooling for day‑2 operations.
- Provide escalated troubleshooting support and act as a key technical resource during incidents.
- Enhance network observability, monitoring, and SLA visibility across the environment.
- Collaborate closely with network vendors, influencing features, design decisions, and product direction.
- Identify gaps in existing implementations and proactively enhance network designs to improve robustness and long‑term scalability.
- 4+ years of hands‑on experience designing and implementing network infrastructure in large‑scale enterprise and data center environments.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in computer science, information technology, electrical engineering, telecommunications, or a related field.
- Hands‑on experience with large‑scale SD‑WAN network design and implementation.
- Experience with high‑end Arista and Cisco switching platforms.
- Hands‑on experience with network segmentation, endpoint security (dot1x) and firewalls (Palo Alto, Checkpoint).
- Proven experience operating and scaling EVPN/VXLAN environments in production, including deep understanding of control‑plane (EVPN) and data‑plane behavior.
- Deep expertise in BGP/VPN/VRFs, QoS and multicast.
- Hands‑on experience designing, building and maintaining automated workflows to manage network infrastructure, shifting from manual CLI configuration to Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Firm foundation in network analysis and monitoring: sniffers, Grafana, Splunk, telemetry, and modern observability tooling.
- Provide Tier‑3 escalation support for complex network incidents and outages.
- Curiosity, strong ownership mindset, and a demonstrated ability to evolve and improve existing network solutions in production environments.
- Public and private cloud knowledge.
- Experience with Versa Networks SD‑WAN.
- Exposure to Wi‑Fi / Load balancer technologies.
- Service Provider / MPLS experience.
- Cisco CCI Enterprise Infrastructure experience.
