If you are excited about technology and improving patient care, a role in our Epic team may be a fit for you. As part of this role, you will support the installation, configuration, testing, training, and troubleshooting of Epic applications for ambulatory primary care.
Responsibilities- Install new applications, new components, and upgrade existing applications. Configure application settings.
- Provide go‑live and rollout support.
- Provide training and support for end users on new applications, modules, and functionality.
- Provide application troubleshooting support for the application(s). Resolve the issue, forward it to the correct group for remediation, or elevate it to the vendor if required.
- Assist with determining how a new system, upgrade, or new component can best meet the needs of the users.
- Analyze business/clinical needs and requirements.
- Evaluate the operational workflow that is applied to the system.
- Create system specifications from user requirements.
- Create test plans and test new systems, version upgrades, and any system modification. Document all outcomes of testing.
- Design database queries and create reports utilizing a report‑writing tool.
- Monitor application issues and evaluate issues as they arise.
- Write and maintain accurate and current documentation regarding application(s) supported by the team. Participate in the maintenance of training materials and disseminate materials to users.
- Provide 24 x 7 on‑call coverage for user support on a rotating basis. Work with the help desk and support personnel on escalated issues to identify problems and resolve them. Triage network, hardware, or workstation issues as required.
- On an as‑needed basis, provide on‑site support within the Montefiore Medical Center hospitals and/or its affiliates (on‑site, rotational support).
- Analyze necessary application modifications and work with the appropriate Montefiore Technology associate or the vendor to coordinate the modification.
- Function as a liaison to the vendor for Montefiore Technology.
- Contact vendor to report escalations and obtain assistance with solving issues.
- Assist with the coordination of vendor activities including hardware or software installation.
- Optimize ambulatory and primary care clinical workflows, including documentation, orders, In Basket messaging, health maintenance, and visit workflows.
- Participate in governance review, change control processes, and release management.
- Collaborate with providers, nursing staff, and operational leaders to gather requirements and improve workflows.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Epic certification in Ambulatory or Orders is required
- Solid knowledge of inpatient and ambulatory workflows
- Experience with Behavioral Health, Social Work and Primary Care specialties is preferred
- 3+ years of related clinical or business experience
- Application/System implementation, troubleshooting, testing, and support experience
- Full life cycle of implementation with go‑live support experience
- Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
