Our client is seeking an experienced Security Systems Technician to support multiple commercial properties. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of building security technologies, including Access Control Systems (ACS), CCTV, Visitor Management Systems (VMS), Facial Recognition, Mobile Access, and related network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure reliable system performance, deliver exceptional client service, and contribute to the ongoing modernization of building security solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and service Access Control, CCTV, and Visitor Management systems.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs for turnstiles, door hardware (mag locks, strikes, crash bars), and related components.
- Mount, connect, and maintain network and security equipment, including cabling, UPS systems, and power devices.
- Support camera programming, calibration, and integrations.
- Participate in equipment rollouts, upgrades, and migrations.
- Conduct on-site surveys to assess security requirements and develop detailed implementation plans.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and technical teams to ensure timely, high-quality project delivery.
- Prepare accurate documentation, reports, and as-built records.
- Travel to client sites primarily in NYC, with occasional assignments in other U.S. cities.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
- Provide hands-on and remote support for system testing, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data privacy standards.
- Transport and handle security equipment and materials safely and efficiently.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- 2–4 years of experience in security systems installation, service, or support.
- Degree in Computer or Digital Electronics preferred but not required.
- Practical experience with Access Control systems such as S2, Lenel, AMAG, Honeywell, or Genetec.
- Skilled in installation and maintenance of CCTV (Exacq Vision/Genetec), door hardware, and turnstile systems (DSI, Gunnebo, Orion, Smarter, etc.).
- Capable of cabling, terminations, and network equipment setup.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and field safety practices.
- Experience configuring PCs, network switches, printers, and mobile devices.
- Proficiency with Windows (10/11/Server), basic Linux/Ubuntu, and SQL familiarity a plus.
- Understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, NAS systems, and basic scripting.
- Strong troubleshooting and reporting skills using Microsoft Office and related tools.
