Associate QA Engineer

Team:
Automotive Insights team within the Global Mobility domain.
The role is responsible for delivering automated and manual testing and providing operational support. The candidate will partner closely with developers to create test strategies, plans, schedules, and execution approaches aligned with quality metrics and requirements. The ideal candidate is passionate about test automation and building clean, maintainable test solutions using Java, Python, and Selenium.
Responsibilities- Design and implement test strategies and test plans based on system specifications, business requirements, and user stories.
- Develop and execute automated test suites across UI and API layers.
- Design and write maintainable automated feature scripts using Java, Python, and Selenium.
- Create and maintain automation frameworks and supporting utilities using Cucumber and TestNG (Java-based implementations).
- Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities within sprint timelines.
- Execute manual testing (functional, regression, smoke) as needed to support release quality.
- Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as JIRA and/or Azure Dev Ops.
- Analyze recurring issues and implement automation to reduce future regressions.
- Support CI/CD pipeline integration for automated test execution and reporting.
- Communicate clearly with cross‑functional stakeholders on technical and non‑technical topics.
- (Nice to have) Apply a basic understanding of the automotive industry in testing considerations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and practical experience implementing automated solutions in Java.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience with Selenium Web Driver using Java implementations.
- Experience testing modern web UIs built with React
JS and Angular. - Understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience integrating tests into pipelines.
- Working knowledge of relational databases including SQL, stored procedures, and data validation techniques.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum software development environment.
- Familiarity with test/defect management and collaboration tools such as JIRA and Azure Dev Ops.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- API testing experience with tools such as Postman, Advanced REST Client, and SOAP UI.
- Experience with AWS (cloud‑native platforms) and environments where tests run in the cloud.
- Additional hands‑on experience with automation techniques, tooling, and best‑practice patterns (e.g., maintainable frameworks, reusable utilities, stable locators, test data management).
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- Prior internship, co‑op, or 0–2 years of experience in software testing (manual and/or automation) is beneficial.
