Senior Systems Engineer - AI Venture Capital

You are one of the first systems engineers at a founder‑led AI firm building the execution layer for enterprise AI transformation.

This is not a role where you inherit someone else’s decisions. You own the dev platform, the evaluation harness, the observability stack, and the reliability across AI systems from the ground up. The architectural patterns you set today become the standards the entire platform engineering team builds on tomorrow.

You are coming in at a senior level, which means you are making real design calls, setting code review standards, and shaping how the team operates under pressure. When something breaks, you have already written the runbook. When something scales, it is because you planned for it. Day to day you are managing CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows across dev, staging, and production environments.

You are implementing structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and alerting so the team always knows what is happening and why. You are leading post‑mortems, establishing on‑call practices, and keeping cloud costs and access controls tight without slowing anyone down.

The people you support are your customers. Your job is to make them faster, more confident, and less worried about the infrastructure underneath them.

You bring proven experience operating production systems in cloud environments, whether that is AWS, GCP, or Azure. You know how to balance speed with sensible controls and you can document your tradeoffs clearly when the moment calls for it.
