Position: Business Analyst with Security Clearance
Location: New York

Job Overview

CGS is seeking experienced Business Analysts to support a large federal agency. The role involves partnering with internal business owners and external partners to identify opportunities, define functional requirements, and enhance service delivery using cutting‑edge technology. The analyst will develop briefings, documentation, process maps, and communications for stakeholders across the agency.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development of briefings, agendas, and other documentation, including training material and demonstration sessions for new and existing technologies.
  • Document and analyze business and functional requirements for translation into process maps and technical system requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards, including system architectural diagrams, wireframes, concepts of operations, and status reports.
  • Create high‑level briefings and communication materials for customers, management, and executive stakeholders.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for service delivery improvement and new technology implementation.
  • Evaluate program materials and develop innovative improvement approaches.
  • Gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
  • Develop and implement deep knowledge of Microsoft and Atlassian products (Teams, SharePoint, Visio, Jira, Confluence) to translate complex product information into polished, engaging content.
  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, collaborating closely with team members to meet project requirements.
  • Develop content in various media forms, ensuring usability and a consistent voice across documentation.
  • Perform risk management, identifying, prioritizing, and mitigating risks, and communicating and escalating issues.
  • Support continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to products, services, and processes.
  • Manage client interaction and expectations regarding team efforts.
  • Coordinate cross‑team dependencies and collaboration.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and develop long‑lasting client relationships.
Qualifications
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to complete a stringent background investigation and obtain required government security clearance.
  • 7+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, and/or design of information systems programs and related business processes.
  • Experience with phase‑based and Agile delivery methods.
  • Proficiency with Jira or other Agile tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in team environments and independently.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with government projects, policy, and procedures.
  • Comfortable interacting with senior leadership and government executives on a day‑to‑day basis.
  • Experience managing client requirements and small teams.
  • Excellent analytical and business presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting DHS HQ or other U.S. federal agencies.
  • Experience tracking and reporting project or program delivery progress and budget execution.
  • Experience developing project briefs and reports for non‑technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of the federal acquisition lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence and Data Analytics.
  • Project Management, Agile, and/or Cyber Certifications (PMP, ACP, CSM, SAFe, CISM).

Compensation

Salary range: $60,000 – $110,000 per year.
