Data Engineer, Data Analyst
Vice President (New York, NY)
Lead product innovation in the Card Data Product team, driving data product development, generative AI applications, and modernization initiatives across the Consumer & Community Banking division.
Job Responsibilities- Ideate and improve business-ready datasets when there’s a clear business justification. Provide business‑ready datasets with enhanced usability after understanding the detailed use cases.
- Partner with data owners, engineering, data science, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, compliant data product solutions and generative AI solutions.
- Drive new GenAI use cases and products created to improve the Card business.
- Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and user stories for development teams, articulating the business value of the data product to various audiences.
- Own product performance and be accountable for investing in enhancements to achieve business objectives.
- Lead modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy systems to cloud‑native architectures such as AWS and Data Lake.
- Develop a strong partnership with stakeholders, communicating product updates, influencing the importance of data in the organization, and articulating the business value of centralizing data.
- Coach and mentor a small team of junior product managers on best practices, such as solution generation, market research, storyboarding, mind‑mapping, prototyping methods, and helping them develop a product mindset.
- 8+ years of experience or equivalent expertise delivering products, projects, or technology applications.
- Extensive knowledge of the product development life cycle, technical design and data analytics.
- Proven ability to influence the adoption of key product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition and value management.
- Experience driving change within organizations and managing stakeholders across multiple functions.
- Structured thinker and effective communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with different data environments such as AWS S3, Snowflake and Databricks.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies and experience with them.
- Strong time‑management skills, with an ability to multitask, work under pressure, and engage with colleagues across regions and time zones.
- Technical knowledge of data engineering, data pipelines, data modeling and data architecture.
- Recognized thought leader within a related field.
- Highly proficient in data querying with languages such as Python, R, Perl, SQL.
- Experience in product development.
- Prior experience in a Credit Card organization or background is preferred, not mandatory.
