How you’ll make an impact

An engineer on the Cloud Foundation team is responsible for enabling Sirius

XM to leverage cloud infrastructure in a stable, properly managed, secure and cost‑effective manner.

• Build and manage foundational cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code to implement standards around networking, identity management, and security, continuously evolving them to match business priorities and new cloud services.
• Improve transparency by educating other teams about how the Cloud platform works, its limitations, and the design guidelines behind it, and helping the platform evolve to better support them.
• Leverage and extend Amazon Web Services environments to support current and future infrastructure needs, staying informed about new services and best practices.
• Optimize infrastructure costs by driving initiatives that achieve cost‑effectiveness without compromising performance or security.
• Collaborate with technical groups—Networking, Security, Development, and Platform Engineering—to stay aligned with business goals and company policies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 5+ years in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, Dev Ops, or site reliability engineering roles.
• 2+ years of experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, ELB, VPC, IAM) or equivalent cloud environments and a strong understanding of AWS best practices.
• 2+ years running Linux‑based systems with advanced knowledge of Linux operating systems.
• Programming proficiency in Type Script, Python, Bash, or another language commonly used for automation and infrastructure management.
• Infrastructure automation expertise with tools such as Cloud Formation (CDK) or Terraform for large‑scale deployment and management.
• Version control proficiency in Git and experience with Git Lab or Git Hub for collaborative code management.
• Curiosity and initiative; unafraid to ask “why” and proactive in exploring solutions and innovative ideas.
• High‑availability mindset prioritizing resilience and reliability in design and deployment.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

At Sirius

XM, compensation is determined by background and experience. The base salary range is $105,800 to $165,000, with potential short‑term and long‑term incentives.
