IT - Principal AI Engineer

Location: New York

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an IT - Principal AI Engineer for a contract assignment with one of our premier insurance clients in NY, NY, Holmdel, NJ, or Bethlehem PA . Hybrid schedule

The Principal AI Engineer is responsible for leading the engineering and architecture of Guardian's AI ecosystem. This role defines how AI capabilities-across Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, and third-party platforms such as Anthropic/Claude-are securely integrated, orchestrated, and scaled across the enterprise. The position is critical to establishing internal AI engineering capabilities and accelerating adoption in alignment with governance, security, and business outcomes.

Responsibilities :

• Lead design and implementation of enterprise AI solutions across M365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, and Agent Builder
• Develop and operationalize integrations with platforms such as Anthropic Claude and Claude Cowork
• Define orchestration patterns across systems, data sources, and automation layers
• Establish and enforce secure integration models aligned with enterprise governance and security controls
• Drive prompt engineering standards and reusable AI patterns
• Partner with security, legal, and compliance teams to ensure responsible AI deployment
• Mentor engineering teams and establish best practices for AI development and lifecycle management

Required
Skills
:

• 8+ years of engineering experience, with demonstrated work in AI/ML or advanced automation
• Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Copilot and Power Platform
• Experience with API-based integrations and distributed system design
• Strong understanding of AI governance, security, and data protection principles
• Experience with LLM platforms (e.g., Anthropic Claude or similar) preferred
