Job Description
This 6-month contract role, with the possibility of conversion to full-time, provides hands-on support for LAN administration, telecom, and mobility services in a large, fast-paced legal environment. You will contribute to critical infrastructure projects, including a migration to Microsoft Teams-based telephony, while supporting end users across an enterprise-scale network. This position is ideal for a junior-level technical professional with strong aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in working onsite five days per week.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day LAN administration activities within an enterprise environment, ensuring stable and secure network operations for end users.
- Assist with telecom and mobility support, including configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of VoIP telephony and mobile devices.
- Contribute to the migration project to Microsoft Teams phones, including user setup, configuration, testing, and post-migration support.
- Administer and support user accounts and access through Active Directory, Azure/Entra , and related tools such as Exchange Admin Center (EAC).
- Work with mobile device management (MDM) platforms to enroll, configure, secure, and support smartphones, tablets, and other mobile endpoints.
- Provide end user computer network support, including basic troubleshooting of connectivity, VoIP endpoints, and related network components.
- Assist with work in intermediate distribution frame (IDF) rooms as needed, supporting physical network and telephony infrastructure.
- Communicate clearly with end users and technical stakeholders, providing concise explanations, instructions, and status updates in both verbal and written form.
- Make detail-oriented decisions that consider multiple technical dependencies, ensuring changes and configurations are accurate and low-risk.
- Perform effectively in a high-pressure environment, managing competing priorities and responding promptly to urgent issues.
- Work onsite five days per week (Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.) and provide additional effort when necessary to meet project and operational needs.
- Collaborate with team members to support a large legal organization, aligning with established processes, documentation standards, and best practices.
- Experience as a technical worker in an enterprise-sized company, preferably within a legal environment but corporate experience also considered.
- Hands-on experience with mobile device management (MDM) tools and processes.
- Practical experience with Active Directory administration for user and group management.
- Experience with Azure/Entra identity and access management in a cloud or hybrid environment.
- Familiarity with Exchange Admin Center (EAC) or similar tools for managing email and related services.
- Experience with VoIP telephone systems and end user computer network support.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent spelling, grammar, and control of tone and nuanced meaning.
- Demonstrated aptitude for detail-oriented work and decision making that involves multiple technical dependencies.
- Ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure environment and handle urgent or complex issues calmly and professionally.
- Genuine interest in working onsite five days per week and willingness to contribute additional effort when needed.
- Junior-level candidates are acceptable if they demonstrate high technical aptitude and strong communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree heavily preferred, or a four-year degree close to completion.
- Experience working in a legal environment supporting attorneys and legal staff.
- Exposure to Microsoft Teams administration, particularly in relation to telephony and collaboration features.
- Experience working with IDF rooms or similar network infrastructure environments.
- Prior experience in a large, global organization with complex technology environments.
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Interest in learning and working with bleeding-edge technologies and modern collaboration platforms.
