Burson is seeking a Director to join our Insights, Data and Intelligence team. This role will drive strategic insights work supporting Jewish organizations and advocacy groups, operating at the intersection of data, culture, and communications to shape narratives, inform strategy, and provide clarity on complex dynamics within global Jewish communities and markets. You will serve as a senior partner to clients and internal stakeholders, delivering data-driven insights that influence branding, positioning, donor outreach and communications, targeting and messaging strategy, community engagement, impact measurement, and general consulting.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end insights engagements, overseeing data collection, analysis, and synthesis across projects focused on Jewish communities and related topics.
  • Manage the execution and implementation of custom qualitative and quantitative research and consulting projects, including designing research projects, proposals, survey instruments, and overseeing all project phases from start to finish.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of analysts, ensuring projects are completed accurately and on time, and communicate status updates to clients.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to Jewish non-profit and advocacy groups, translating complex data and cultural signals into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Own and direct media monitoring, social listening, and intelligence programs; identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities using platforms such as Brandwatch, Sprinklr, and News Whip.
  • Guide the development of high-quality deliverables, including executive-level reports, narrative briefs, and strategic presentations.
  • Oversee and mentor junior team members, providing guidance on methodologies, analysis, and storytelling best practices.
  • Ensure accuracy, rigor, and strategic consistency across all deliverables.
  • Contribute to the growth of the practice by identifying new opportunities, refining methodologies, and strengthening client relationships.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in analytics, market research and insights, communications strategy, and/or related fields (agency or in-house).
  • Experience leading research projects and managing client relationships in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
  • Expertise in media intelligence, social listening, and analytics tools (e.g., Brandwatch, Sprinklr, News Whip, Meltwater) is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of the diversity within Jewish communities, including key organizations, cultural nuances, and advocacy landscapes.
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into compelling narratives for senior stakeholders and executive audiences.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; experience navigating sensitive, nuanced, or highly visible topics.
  • Experience mentoring or managing junior team members and contributing to team development.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with dashboards, data visualization, and emerging AI/LLM tools is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously while maintaining high standards for quality and detail.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Bonus:
Fluency in Hebrew or other languages relevant to global Jewish communities (e.g., Yiddish).
