Network Technician II – AWS Infrastructure Services
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Network Technician II to support capacity scaling and day‑to‑day network operations across multiple data center locations. The role involves troubleshooting routing and inter‑connectivity issues, building console and router‑aggregate devices, and collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors to execute network scaling projects.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain first‑level router‑aggregates and console network devices for new server rooms.
- Support capacity scaling projects and day‑to‑day capacity management across data center locations.
- Manage work and priorities through ticketing systems and workflow processes to complete customer requests and projects.
- Troubleshoot networking, routing, and inter‑connectivity issues, including device configuration and low‑level application interaction.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles and ensure smooth project execution.
- Participate in migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware and cabling infrastructure.
- Assist with power, cooling, and hardware racking/stacking requirements for new equipment.
- Up to 60 % travel within the geographical work area; some travel outside traditional work area may be requested, including internationally.
- Move, lift, and rack computer equipment up to 50 lbs and lift up to 40 lbs in the same session.
- Provide first‑level networking devices and track rack intake, delivery, and service‑level agreement for customer racks.
- Build console and room builds to increase capacity for customer racks.
- Work with ‑scaling peers to build higher‑level networking devices.
- 1+ year of computer networking experience.
- 1+ year of Linux operating systems experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience troubleshooting computer hardware and repair.
- Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking, stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
- Experience troubleshooting cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
- Ability to work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
The base salary range for this position is $33.00–$59.00 USD hourly. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
