Compliance Lead

Our client is a venture-backed fintech company building technology solutions that simplify and automate regulatory licensing and compliance processes. Their mission is to help financial services companies navigate complex licensing requirements more efficiently, reducing barriers to growth and innovation.

We are seeking a Compliance Lead with deep expertise in Money Transmitter Licensing (MTL) and regulatory licensing compliance to support customers and drive the development of licensing-focused compliance products. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert on state licensing requirements, helping fintech, payments, and cryptocurrency businesses navigate complex regulatory frameworks.

The ideal candidate combines hands‑on licensing experience with a strong understanding of the evolving crypto and digital asset regulatory landscape. They will work directly with customers, regulators, product teams, and engineers to build scalable solutions that simplify compliance and licensing processes.

• Lead customer engagements related to state money transmitter licensing applications, renewals, and ongoing compliance requirements.
• Serve as the internal subject matter expert on MTL and state licensing regulations.
• Provide guidance on licensing requirements for fintech, payments, and cryptocurrency businesses.
• Maintain strong working relationships with state regulators and licensing authorities.
• Partner closely with product and engineering teams to translate regulatory requirements into scalable technology solutions.
• Act as the voice of the customer in product development discussions and roadmap planning.
• Monitor and interpret changes in state licensing and digital asset regulatory requirements.

• Significant experience managing Money Transmitter Licensing (MTL) programs, including state license applications, renewals, and regulatory interactions.
• Strong understanding of state regulatory frameworks governing fintech, payments, and money transmission activities.
• Experience supporting cryptocurrency, digital asset, or blockchain‑related businesses through licensing and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to engage directly with regulators and manage regulatory relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex regulatory concepts.
• Experience working cross‑functionally with product, engineering, and business teams.
