We’re partnering with a leading, highly regarded financial services firm to hire an HR Data Coordinator to join their team in New York City.
This is a unique opportunity to support a high-impact data initiative within a collaborative, detail-driven environment, while working cross-functionally with global teams.
The RoleThis position sits within a people-focused function supporting a large-scale data curation and mapping project. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, organization, and integrity of employee data while partnering closely with internal stakeholders.
Important to note:
This is not a translation-focused role. The majority of day-to-day work is in English and centered around data accuracy and operations. Japanese is needed for occasional use cases, such as working with Japanese-language names or supporting communication with a Japan-based team.
- Partner regularly with colleagues in Japan on shared workflows and data initiatives
- Participate in cross-time-zone communication (primarily early mornings, not overnight work)
- Flexibility for occasional off-hours calls while maintaining a standard U.S.
-based schedule - Laptop provided to support communication outside of the office when needed
- Support ongoing HR data mapping and curation projects
- Accurately input, organize, and maintain employee data across systems
- Identify and resolve duplicate or inconsistent data entries
- Assist with data validation and quality control efforts
- Work with Japanese-language data when needed (e.g., extracting and standardizing names into English formats)
- Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and accuracy
- Contribute to broader process improvement and data integrity initiatives
- Working proficiency with Japanese (particularly written) and comfort using it in a professional setting is required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maturity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working across time zones and with global teams
- Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Exposure to HR, operations, or data-related work
- Familiarity with HR systems or data management processes
- Prior experience working with Japanese-language documents or data
- High visibility within a top-tier financial services environment
