As a Data Center Operator supporting various health programs, you will be trusted to work on monitoring mainframe and mid-range systems as well as disaster recovery. This role will be in Rensselaer, NY. Training will be during the day for the first 1-2 months and then move to the night shift. Shift differential is offered for night shift positions.
Responsibilities- Providing monitoring, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting support of information systems, applications, and related peripheral hardware
- Performing all required hourly and daily system checks in accordance with prescribed schedules
- Keeping the task manager informed of any unusual conditions or problems encountered in the performance of daily duties
- Monitoring of systems and networks within the HPCMP Enterprise utilizing Unix/Linux workstations. Windows systems may also be used in various tasks.
- Using a variety of interactive tools and processes to determine the health of systems and networks by performing all required hourly and daily system checks in accordance with prescribed schedules
- Generating trouble tickets for tier 2 and 3 support. May route calls to product line specialists, application, or system support specialists.
- Maintaining and updating record and tracking databases.
- High School diploma/GED; AND
- 1 or more years of experience (equivalent education in lieu of experience) required; 2 or more years of related experience with Mainframe applications (ZEEK, ZEBB, SA, CA and/or IBM products) in an operations team environment preferred
- Demonstrated Enterprise IT experience
- Demonstrated experience utilizing an ITSM tool such as Service Now
- Ability and willingness to work any overnight shift (7 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Intermediate experience working with Microsoft products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Exposure to or ability to learn JCL, ATL (Automated Tape Libraries), and tape media.
- Ability and willingness to obtain a Full BI background investigation clearance

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $23.30 - $26.45. Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
