Senior Data Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Platform Engineer to help build and scale a modern enterprise data ecosystem. This individual will be responsible for designing and maintaining a centralized data platform that supports reporting, analytics, operational intelligence, and future advanced data initiatives. The role will work closely with business, technology, security, and governance teams to ensure data is organized, protected, and accessible across the organization.

This position combines hands‑on engineering with strategic data architecture, requiring the ability to translate business objectives, regulatory considerations, and information security requirements into scalable data solutions.

• Design, build, and support a modern cloud‑based data platform for analytics and business intelligence.
• Develop data ingestion, integration, transformation, and storage solutions for a wide range of data sources.
• Establish scalable standards for data modeling, performance optimization, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure the accuracy, availability, and consistency of enterprise data assets.

• Develop and maintain frameworks for organizing, categorizing, and managing enterprise data.
• Partner with Information Security, Risk, and Compliance teams to support data protection initiatives.
• Identify and manage sensitive business information throughout its lifecycle.
• Integrate governance and classification controls into data pipelines, storage environments, and reporting platforms.

• Collaborate with stakeholders across operations, finance, technology, and corporate functions to evaluate data needs.
• Analyze existing and emerging data sources to determine business value, sensitivity, and usage requirements.
• Define data retention, accessibility, and governance standards.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on enterprise data architecture and best practices.

• Implement controls supporting data access management, auditability, lineage, and accountability.
• Assist with compliance‑related data requirements and internal control frameworks.
• Contribute to enterprise data standards, documentation, and governance processes.

• Monitor, maintain, and optimize data workflows and integrations.
• Troubleshoot complex data quality, performance, and operational issues.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to the data environment.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to other technical team members.

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related platform engineering roles.
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise‑scale data platforms.
• Strong background in ETL/ELT development, data integration, and large‑volume data processing.
• Understanding of data governance, information management, and security best practices.
• Experience partnering with security, risk, compliance, or governance teams on data‑related initiatives.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

• Experience with modern cloud data platforms and analytics environments.
• Exposure to data cataloging, metadata management, or data lifecycle management initiatives.
• Familiarity with regulatory, audit, or control‑driven environments.
• Experience supporting enterprise reporting, analytics, or business intelligence functions.
