The Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) has grown to become the largest culinary institute in New York City and Los Angles and is evolving into a nationwide organization through the rollout of its online learning platform. ICE is a unique organization that blends the characteristics of a highly regulated for-profit school with the intensity of an expansive culinary/hospitality operation.
The System/Network Engineer supports the stability, security, and day-to-day IT operations of the organization’s IT infrastructure primarily on Windows, M365 and VMWare platform. The responsibilities cover a variety of roles from help desk, and technical support to advanced administration over a variety of servers and network infrastructure. Experience supporting systems in Anthology/Campus Vue, Softdocs and M365 is preferred. This role has first line ownership of the institution’s overall IT operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Administer, maintain, and support enterprise Windows Server environments to ensure system availability, patching, upgrading, maintain performance, and security.
- Design, implement, and support hybrid Active Directory/Entra services, including domain architecture, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, DHCP, and M365 management.
- Administer, maintain and support in Aruba/Unifi wifi system.
- Administer and manage M365 Entra, Exchange and Sharepoint.
- Administer and troubleshoot enterprise Dell switches and Fortinet firewalls.
- Administer and troubleshoot on IIS, SQL servers, including SSL certificate renew etc.
- Administer and troubleshoot Dell SAN.
- Administer and troubleshoot all VPNs, ISP issues.
- Manage all internal and external DNS.
- Monitor variety of backups on Ninja One Drop Suite, and Veeam.
- Scripting or automating tasks with Power Shell scripts.
- Troubleshooting computer hardware, software, applications, and network connectivity.
- Diagnosing and resolving problems by walking users through step-by-step solutions.
- Monitoring, and updating user end issue, escalating to Tier-2/Tier-3 when necessary.
- Deploying, configuring, and updating software and hardware components.
- Creating user guides and documenting solutions.
- Support periodic on call responsibilities in support of 24
* 7 environment.
- Troubleshooting our internal student information system Anthology with software developers or support vendor engineers.
- Working with different vendors to generate quotes and billings.
- Developing AI technology to help departmental operations.
- 5 – 10 years of IT experience in systems engineering, systems administration, or infrastructure support roles
- Experience supporting hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud)
- Working knowledge of Windows server, switch, firewall, cloud administration
- Basic to intermediate understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs)
- Demonstrated security awareness in day-to-day system administration
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills
- A strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
