The Role in a Nutshell
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master with a strong background in project management to guide and support our agile development teams. This role will ensure adherence to Agile principles and best practices, oversee multiple projects, and align them with organizational objectives, delivering on time and within scope.
The Opportunity- Facilitate daily agile ceremonies, including scrums, stand‑ups, and meetings to monitor project progress and resolve issues.
- Identify silos, find requirement gaps, and groom team behavior through excellent communication via the agile method.
- Create project outlines and timelines and distribute responsibilities to team members.
- Remove project obstacles and develop solutions with the team.
- Ensure milestones are reached and deadlines are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Document progress and communicate to management and stakeholders.
- Generate JIRA reports to track progress and measure productivity.
- Maintain transparency by keeping visible product backlogs and burn‑down charts across departments.
- Coordinate daily/frequent communication with the hiring manager (Director of Technology) and prioritize tech debt, infrastructure, and cyber‑security initiatives alongside all other business priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or related field.
- 5‑7 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager managing multiple Agile teams and priorities/projects.
- Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies (stand‑ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, etc.).
- Familiarity with agile methodologies beyond standard ceremonies, such as Kanban or XP, is a plus.
- Servant‑leadership mindset and continuous improvement orientation.
- Proactive in identifying and removing impediments.
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, from team members to executives, and effectively communicate the Scrum process and its benefits.
- Expertise with agile tools—JIRA.
- Knowledge of modern software development practices and procedures.
- Fixed‑income or Fin Tech experience.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) from Scrum Alliance, Professional Scrum Master (PSM) from Scrum.org, or equivalent certifications.
The base pay range for this position in New York is $130,000 – $160,000 annually. Pay may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Equity and year‑end bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
