Summer 2026 Internship – Part‑time – Manhattan – Negotiable – Unknown
The Data Analytics and Reporting (DAR) team at the NYC Mayor’s Office of Contract Services (MOCS) supports data‑driven decision making by developing compliance reports, annual procurement indicators, and business intelligence tools. As an intern you will assist the Associate Director (DAR) and the team with data analysis, reporting, and project coordination.
Internship Responsibilities- Support the development of the Annual Procurement Indicators Report using Excel pivot tables, Power Query, and data visualizations.
- Assist with regular compliance reporting by performing data quality checks and coordinating with agencies and vendors.
- Participate in MOCS Data Cabinet meetings to gain insight into DAR reporting outputs.
- Track and report progress of reporting tasks using project management tools such as
- Attend internal and external meetings, take detailed notes, and manage follow‑up actions related to data initiatives.
- Support the development of basic Power BI visualizations to improve data accessibility.
- Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, data visualization, and Power Query.
- Experience in data analysis and strong skills in data manipulation; SQL proficiency is highly valuable.
- Familiarity with Power BI or other business intelligence tools for data visualization and reporting.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Team‑oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute to data‑driven decision‑making in city government.
Candidates pursuing degrees in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, AI, Statistics, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field are strongly encouraged to apply.
Minimum Qualifications- Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school; employment conditioned upon continued enrollment.
Minimum tenure for the College Aide Title is 6 years. Students may be employed full‑time during vacation periods.
Compensation: $17.50 – $18.00 per hour.
This is an on‑site internship.
