Business Data and Reporting Analyst, Level 1 – Human Resources

Under supervision, provides and/or oversees expert end‑user support by proficiently and accurately inputting, auditing, and reporting on information in CUNYfirst (People Soft), the City University of New York’s ERP system used for student, human resources, and finance functions.

Business Data and Reporting Analysts are highly skilled end users of CUNYfirst, providing support for data entry, audit, and reporting. This position differs from an Information Technology role, which is focused on hardware, software, network, and systems planning.

GENERAL DUTIES

Provide and oversee end‑user support for CUNYfirst, ensuring accurate data entry, audit, and reporting.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Liaise with several departments on onboarding paperwork, ensuring all data are entered into CUNYfirst in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review source documents for accuracy and obtain further information for incomplete documents.
  • Assist with audit system reports to identify incorrect data and determine the corrective action to maintain data integrity.
  • Review employment actions in relation to collective bargaining agreements (CBA) to ensure salary, qualifications, and other required documents are complete.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated English language proficiency, including the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English sufficiently to meet the performance standards for the job tasks.
  • One year of related full‑time experience utilizing People Soft computer software. Experience less than full‑time may be prorated.

This title has four levels; additional qualifications such as education, experience, or certification are required to qualify for Levels 2‑4.

COMPENSATION
  • New Hire: $44,746.00 (salary suppressed 13% for 24 months).
  • Incumbent: $50,564.00.
