Senior Data Catalog & Governance Lead

We are seeking an experienced Data Catalog & Governance Lead to drive the design, implementation, and adoption of enterprise data governance capabilities across a large-scale data ecosystem.

This role will focus on owning and delivering data catalog solutions, enabling trusted data discovery, strong metadata management, and effective governance workflows across business and technology teams.

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data catalog platforms (e.g. Collibra, Alation, Purview)
• Define and manage metadata strategy, including business glossary, lineage, and critical data elements (CDEs)
• Establish and ope rationalise data governance frameworks, standards, and workflows
• Drive data catalog adoption, working with data owners, stewards, and business stakeholders
• Design and implement stewardship models, approval workflows, and governance processes
• Work closely with data engineering teams to ensure catalog integration and metadata ingestion
• Develop and track governance KPIs (data quality, lineage coverage, catalog adoption, etc.)
• Support regulatory and compliance initiatives through strong data transparency and control frameworks

• Proven experience building and implementing data catalog platforms end-to-end
• Strong expertise in: metadata management, data lineage, business glossary design, data ownership / stewardship models
• Hands‑on experience with tools such as:
  Collibra, Alation, Purview, Informatica EDC (or similar)
• Experience working in financial services or regulated environments
• Ability to bridge business and technology teams
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

• Experience with semantic layers, ontologies, or knowledge graphs
• Exposure to AI/ML data readiness and metadata‑driven architectures
• Understanding of modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)
