System Administrator

📍 New York, NY, Midtown Manhattan - Hybrid Role

Our client, a private investment firm based in Midtown Manhattan, NYC, is seeking a Systems Administrator to join their team in a highly visible, hands‑on capacity.

This is a unique hybrid role that blends high‑level IT support with systems administration, ideal for someone who enjoys being both user‑facing and technically involved across infrastructure, systems, and projects.

This is not a "back‑office" Systems Administration role. You’ll play a key part in ensuring the day‑to‑day technology experience runs smoothly across the firm, while also supporting and maintaining core systems and infrastructure.

The role offers a strong mix of hands‑on IT Support, technology troubleshooting, working with users at all levels of the firm, systems ownership, and project‑based work.

• Provide high‑touch onsite and remote support across desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and applications
• Troubleshoot and resolve both day‑to‑day and escalated technical issues
• Manage and track tickets while maintaining strong communication and follow‑through
• Administer and support Windows Server, Active Directory, and core IT infrastructure
• Support networking, security tools, and enterprise systems
• Configure and deploy hardware including laptops, mobile devices, and A/V systems
• Lead and contribute to projects such as OS migrations, upgrades, and hardware refreshes
• Manage patching, updates, and overall system maintenance
• Coordinate with external vendors and internal stakeholders on escalations and initiatives
• Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve efficiency and user experience

• Strong experience in a Systems Administrator and IT Support hybrid role
• Proven ability and desire to provide hands on troubleshooting across Windows, Mac, mobile devices, and enterprise environments
• Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Windows Server
• Exposure to tools like VMware, Citrix, Mimecast, Sophos, or similar
• Comfortable working across infrastructure, networking, and end‑user environments
• Strong communication skills with a service‑oriented, white glove, user‑first mindset
