Overview

Mastercard Foundry is the innovation engine of Mastercard and a hub for new product development. We drive product innovation in emerging technologies and interfaces while focusing on building revenue‑generating ecosystems and flywheels that can be standalone in adjacent segments and markets. Our focus areas include digital assets, stable coins, consumer value propositions, digital payments, payment acceptance and processing, and applications of artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead new product development for digital assets/cryptocurrency and stablecoin capabilities, from early concept and prototyping through pilot, and launch across Mastercard’s network.
  • Define and own the product vision, concepts, and roadmap for crypto and stablecoin use cases.
  • Partner closely with product, engineering, architecture, and security teams to design production‑grade, scalable blockchain‑based solutions that drive commercial value.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with legal, compliance, risk, and franchise teams to ensure all crypto/stablecoin products are compliant with regulatory requirements and Mastercard rules frameworks.
  • Translate emerging blockchain and stablecoin technologies into clear product requirements, technical tradeoffs, and executable delivery plans.
  • Engage with external partners (e.g., VASPs, issuers, fintechs, infrastructure providers) to co‑develop and integrate crypto and stablecoin solutions into the Mastercard ecosystem.
  • Drive experimentation through proofs‑of‑concept and market tests, incorporating learnings into product iterations and commercialization decisions.
  • Build business cases and success metrics to demonstrate customer value, MA network impact, and commercial viability of crypto and stablecoin products.
  • Serve as an internal subject‑matter expert on crypto, stable coins, and digital asset infrastructure across Mastercard.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members.
Qualifications
  • Passion for innovation and emerging technology.
  • Strong problem‑solving, research, analytical, and quantitative skills, with the ability to build business cases that articulate commercial value.
  • Proven experience leading product development for cryptocurrency, stablecoin, or blockchain‑based solutions in a regulated financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of blockchain infrastructure, stablecoin models, wallets, settlement flows, and on/off‑ramp architectures, with the ability to translate concepts into scalable products.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with engineering, security, legal, compliance, and risk teams to deliver compliant, production‑grade solutions.
  • Track record of taking new products from concept to launch, including defining requirements, managing tradeoffs, and driving execution across cross‑functional teams.
  • Strategic, outcome‑oriented leader with the ability to influence stakeholders, articulate a clear product or concept vision, and operate effectively in ambiguous, fast‑evolving environments.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both drafting and presenting, oral and written.
  • Prior consulting, banking, or emerging payments experience a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
