Job OverviewThe Data Analytics Senior Manager accomplishes results through the management of professional teams and departments. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area and contributes to standards that guide others. Requires a deep understanding of how data analytics align with the sub‑function and the broader organization, commercial awareness, and strong communication and diplomacy skills to influence peers and external customers.
Responsible for the volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of data science projects, as well as short‑term planning, budgeting, and policy formulation. Full management responsibility for a team, including performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations, and budget approval.
- Integrate subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area.
- Contribute to data analytics standards used by the organization.
- Apply an in‑depth understanding of how data analytics integrate within the sub‑function and align with overall objectives.
- Employ communication and diplomacy skills to guide, influence, and convince colleagues and external entities.
- Resolve complex and highly variable issues.
- Produce detailed analysis where the best action is not obvious, recommending or taking appropriate action.
- Ensure the volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of data science projects and short‑term resource planning.
- Oversee management of people, budget and planning, including performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary action, terminations and budget approval.
- Appropriately assess risk when making business decisions, demonstrate consideration for the firm’s reputation, safeguard customers and assets by driving compliance with laws, regulations and company policy, applying ethical judgment, escalating and reporting control issues, and supervising activities of others.
- 6-10 years of experience using statistical modeling tools on large data sets.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience; master’s degree is desirable.
