Job Description

The Tax Project Manager, Digital Transformation & Innovation will be an integral member of the BDO Tax Digital Transformation and Innovation team, primarily focusing on managing technology development projects. The Manager will oversee the technology product and ensure the project's overall success from initiation to closure, delivering projects on time, within scope and on budget. The ideal candidate has a strong background in project management and a clear understanding of both waterfall and agile development methodologies.

The Manager will coordinate with business stakeholders, the DT&I product management team, software developers, and DT&I deployment teams to create and implement project plans and guide technology solutions that meet the needs of clients and professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the project planning and implementation of technology development projects within the Tax Digital Transformation and Innovation portfolio.
  • Work closely with the Product Manager and Deployment Lead to ensure project alignment with product objectives and company goals.
  • Utilize a hybrid project management approach, incorporating elements of waterfall and agile methodologies to manage timelines, scope, and resources.
  • Review and analyze project financials and budget to actual projections.
  • Employ project management tools and software to track project progress, manage resources, and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members and stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project success.
  • Ensure project documentation is maintained and updated throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to capture learnings and improve future project management practices.
  • Other duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Oversee team members as required.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Business or Information Technology preferred.
Experience
  • Experience with project management, mentoring teams, and software development lifecycle required.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a project manager, project coordinator, or similar role with a focus on technology development projects preferred.
  • Experience working in the tax or accounting professional services industry preferred.
  • Experience working with multinational teams preferred.
License/Certifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certified preferred.
  • Scrum Master or Agile Certified Practitioner preferred.
Software
  • Proficient with project management tools required.
Languages
  • N/A.

Compensation & Benefits

Individual salaries are determined after consideration of candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $100,000 - $175,000

Maryland Range: $100,000 - $175,000

NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $100,000 - $175,000
