Lead QA Tester; Quality Center​/ALM

Job Description

Trigyn's direct government client has an immediate need for Lead QA Tester in Albany, NY.

Description: The consultant will have responsibilities to coordinate user acceptance testing, test applications, track all testing activities during the life cycle of the assigned project, report updates to management, as well as day to day tasks defined for this position.

• Operating under the direction of ITS staff.
• Provide guidelines, reviews, and support to developers and business analysts by creating functional tests to test applications built by developers.
• Perform testing activities, including UI automation, integration testing, and functional testing.
• Develop test cases per the Business Rules in order to perform or direct others on testing requirements.
• Review and provide guidance on the test scope and output of testers performing testing.
• Facilitate, record and capture information from demos and user experience sessions.
• Create status reporting mechanisms to monitor the status of the above activities.
• Host integration discussions, with representatives of all test teams, identify and help resolve roadblocks.
• Ensure that requirements and deliverables are verified and validated at each testing phase and final acceptance.
• Prepare test protocols and reports which meet regulatory requirements, during the final test cycle.
• Help keep test processes streamlined for efficiency.
• Be the primary advocate for the adoption of methodologies which are appropriate for the project.
• Use Microsoft office tools for testing activities and communications with team members and management.

Mandatory qualifications include:

• Conduct automated and manual tests to ensure that the software created/upgraded performs as necessary and meets the user requirements; develop and maintain user and technical documentation and project process documentation for application teams; understand the view of applications and/or technology and is able to put procedures in a logical sequence.
• Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
• 84 months experience with detailed team leadership responsibilities as the lead project tester working on highly technical projects that required over five thousand hours of resource time.
• 84 months of experience planning, designing, developing, and executing test plans based on business requirements and functional specifications.
• 84 months of experience coordinating, tracking, and analyzing testing activities.
• 84 months of experience creating test plans to be used by business application owners (client agencies) and managing User Acceptance Testing activities performed by the application users.
• 84 months of experience using functional test tools to execute automated tests. Example would be Open Text. Experience must include the design, build, coding, and execution of automated test functions.
• 84 months of experience using Micro Focus ALM (formerly known as HP Application Lifecycle Management/Quality Center).
• 84 months of experience recording and customizing automated functional tests.
• 84 months experience creating SQL queries to validate correct back-end processing.
• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science.
