Job Description
The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (Pro Serve) team is seeking an experienced Pro Serve Cloud Architect (PCA) to work closely with customers to understand their technical requirements and business objectives, designing and implementing tailored cloud solutions. The PCA will play a key role in the pre‑sales process, providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the customer's cloud journey, creating and leading solution design to address customer business outcomes (CBO), and acting as a trusted advisor on industry trends and emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Design complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions to deliver customer business outcomes (CBOs)
- Provide technical guidance and best practices during pre‑sales and implementation phases
- Collaborate with Account Managers and Shared Delivery Teams to ensure proposed solutions are realistic and achievable
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers on industry trends and emerging technologies
- Share knowledge within the organization through mentoring, training, and creating reusable artifacts
- Experience managing and delivering large‑scale enterprise IT projects
- Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g., security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA)
- Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies
- Degree in advanced technology or AWS Professional level certification
- Knowledge of compliance and security standards across the enterprise IT landscape
- Knowledge of AWS services including compute, storage, networking, security, databases, machine learning, and serverless technologies
- Experience implementing AWS services in distributed computing environments
- Experience managing executive customer relationships and key business stakeholders
- Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and identifying relationships between business services, information, applications, and global infrastructure assets
- Experience with enterprise systems including SAP, Oracle, and custom applications
- Experience in performance optimization and cost management for cloud environments
- Experience explaining technical concepts in pre‑sales environments
Amazon offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, parental leave, and more. Salary ranges: USD 210,200–284,300 (San Francisco, CA); USD 182,800–247,300 (Chicago, IL); USD 201,000–272,000 (New York, NY); USD 182,800–247,300 (Dallas, TX).
