Senior Solutions Architect – Global Financial Services (GFS) – Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks an experienced and technically deep Senior Solutions Architect to partner with some of the world’s largest banking, insurance, and capital markets companies to design highly scalable, resilient, and secure cloud architectures that solve real business problems and accelerate AWS adoption.

• Partner with customers to architect, build, and migrate applications, software, and services on the AWS platform
• Work with sales teams to develop and execute strategies that drive AWS adoption and exceed revenue objectives
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior technical leaders at Financial Services customers, influencing their long-term technology strategy
• Lead architectural discussions and design reviews, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, cost‑optimized, and operationally excellent
• Develop and contribute reusable reference architectures, patterns, and best‑practice content for the SA community
• Mentor and develop fellow Solutions Architects, actively contributing to team capability growth
• Act as a Financial Services thought leader through public speaking, written content, and industry engagement on cloud and AI adoption
• Conduct training sessions (one‑to‑few and one‑to‑many) to transfer knowledge to customers evaluating or already using AWS
• Provide structured feedback to AWS service and product teams based on customer needs and gaps identified in the field
• Contribute to organizational strategic planning, recruiting, and the development of team‑wide initiatives

Up to 30% travel may be required to meet with customers and attend industry events. Travel expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

You will start your day engaging with a global Financial Services customer—perhaps leading a cloud architecture review for a core banking migration or a generative AI proof‑of‑concept. You'll collaborate with AWS sales, specialist, and product teams to align on strategy and remove technical blockers. In the afternoon, you might contribute to a reference architecture document, mentor a fellow SA, or prepare a talk for an upcoming industry conference.

No two days are the same, but every day involves deep technical work, customer impact, and cross‑team collaboration.

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
• Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals
• Knowledge of cloud architecture
• Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, & storage architectures

Base salary range: USA, NY, New York –  –  USD annually. Additional compensation may include sign‑on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and performance‑based bonuses.
