In Internal Audit, we ensure that Goldman Sachs maintains effective controls by assessing the reliability of financial reports, monitoring the firm's compliance with laws and regulations, and advising management on developing smart control solutions. Our group has unique insight on the financial industry and its products and operations. WhatWe Do
As the third line of defense, Internal Audit's mission is to independently assess the firm's internal control structure, including governance processes, risk management, capital and anti‑financial crime frameworks, raise awareness of control risk, and monitor the implementation of management's control measures. In doing so, internal audit:
- Communicates and reports on the effectiveness of the firm's governance, risk management and controls that mitigate current and evolving risk
- Raises awareness of control risk
- Assesses the firm's control culture and conduct risks
- Monitors management's implementation of control measures

Your ImpactAs a Cloud Technology Auditor in the Core Engineering team, you will independently assess the firm's overall control environment, assess the integrity, security and compliance of cloud computing environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), communicate findings to local and global management, and support the Audit Committee, Board of Directors and Risk Committee in fulfilling oversight responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Perform regular risk assessments for the area of coverage
- Meet regularly with business and engineering stakeholders and build strong relationships with management
- Continuously monitor business and technology developments
- Monitor regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Lead audit work: define scope, assess controls design and effectiveness, review audit work, report findings to internal and external management
- Validate closure of management action points
- Manage, coach and develop the team
- More than 15 years of relevant audit experience focusing on Financial Services
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering or equivalent
- Highly motivated with strong analytical skills and the ability to learn new business and system processes quickly
- Effective teamwork across a large audit team and understanding of the team's role in the firm's overall strategy
- Ability to multitask while managing time and workload
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal skills essential; frequent interaction with technology management
- Deep understanding of cloud computing, technologies, risks and mitigating controls
- In‑depth understanding of cloud computing concepts, architecture, and service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- Familiarity with cloud‑native security tools and services such as AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center, GCP Security Command Center
- Proficiency in auditing various cloud services: compute, storage, networking, databases, serverless functions
- Proficiency in auditing controls related to cloud security configurations, IAM, data encryption, network security, logging, monitoring and incident response in cloud platforms
- Understanding of Dev Ops, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) in a cloud context
- Relevant certification or industry accreditation
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States‑based position is $100,000‑$250,000. You may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus as an active employee as of fiscal year‑end.
