Location: New York
Senior Business Systems Analyst (Workday, Reporting & Analytics)
Senior Business Systems Analyst – own and evolve people reporting and analytics capability, turning Workday data into insights for leaders.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as Workday functional lead for reporting and People Analytics, owning design, build, and maintenance of core reporting layer.
- Partner with People Operations, Finance, Talent, and senior leadership to understand reporting needs and translate them into scalable Workday solutions.
- Build and maintain core recurring reports (headcount, attrition, time‑to‑fill, span of control, compensation ratios) that are accurate and self‑served.
- Design and manage Workday dashboards and scorecards for HR leadership and manager self‑service.
- Own data transformation layer – integrate external sources (ATS, engagement surveys, finance data) for blended reporting.
- Establish and maintain data quality monitoring processes, running audits to surface missing fields, broken hierarchies, and stale records.
- Manage structured intake process for ad‑hoc reporting requests with clear, consistent guidelines.
- Collaborate with Integrations Architect on data landing, field naming, granularity, and refresh frequency.
- Manage bi‑annual Workday releases, evaluate new reporting/analytics features, test, and recommend adoption strategies.
- Develop and maintain documentation for all reports, dashboards, and data definitions to support change management, onboarding, and audit.
- Clear communication – articulate ideas effectively in oral, written, and visual forms.
- Solution‑oriented – identify root causes and propose better ways to achieve results.
- Good judgment – use critical thinking to assess problems, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Decision quality – make timely, informed decisions to advance the organization.
- Consultative – build relationships, understand problems, and develop solutions.
- 3–4 years of experience as Business Systems Analyst, People Analytics, or HRIS reporting role with hands‑on Workday reporting configuration (custom reports, BIRT, composite reports, calculated fields).
- Experience with Workday People Analytics and/or BI tools such as Looker, Tableau preferred.
- Strong understanding of HR data domains (headcount, compensation, talent acquisition, performance, absence) and their integration across Workday modules.
- Experience with Workday integrations and understanding of data flow between systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, with low tolerance for data inaccuracy.
- Strong stakeholder management skills – comfortable presenting data to senior leaders and translating business questions into reporting requirements.
- Proactive self‑starter with continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
Base wage range: $136,500 – $165,000 per year (New York City office). Salary varies by location and candidate qualifications.
